They're common as adorable pajamas where I come from. You can even get some that look like animal mascots from TV shows.

I wore it during my stasis, truth be told. It was far more comfortable than the uniform and I wasn't keen on wearing whatever medical would give me.

It's disorienting, both when you're going under and when you wake up. It's like when you're being prepped for surgery with anesthesia.
