Assuming the network operates on our same standards.

Mother managed to put it back together, though she is, in essence, both the routing table and the DHCP.

In either case, the problem lies within her as well, I believe. I would venture to say there has been tampering, what with the addition of new creatures and mauled walls.
FROM: morir.carla@cdc.org I don't assume my standards, merely basic functions that define a 'network'.
FROM: morir.carla@cdc.org If she's playing router, I'm not surprised her memory allocation may be corrupted or overflowed.
FROM: morir.carla@cdc.org We've added new users, removed others, unexpected shutdown, and reallocation of resources to deal with the threat. In addition to your notes.
FROM: morir.carla@cdc.org Maybe it's not so wise to have her handling all those roles.
FROM: morir.carla@cdc.org There is a reason for dispersing the system so there isn't this kind of failure.
Mother had been in stasis, so to speak, while we were on planet. She handled our network, but she wasn't actively operating the ship and maintaining a myriad of life supports that make the ship livable.

Dispersing the system would be wise, but it would mean dispersing parts of herself. She is as much machine as she is a creature or a being.
[A different tune than when she spoke to Dagger, but she knows that she cannot control Mother as she could control a created little beast like he spoke.]

I'm disappointed.

The network is finally put back online, and now it's misrouting messages.
FROM: morir.carla@cdc.org
Either the routing table's memory allocation is corrupted...
FROM: morir.carla@cdc.org
Or the host configuration needs to be renewed.

Having all our systems depend on her is dangerous.

But I doubt they are interested in hearing that opinion.

I don't want to waste my time proposing a tact they won't take. I would rather use my time establishing backup protocol.

It was ridiculous to have Orange scrambling after the fact.

I had mentioned as much to one of our leads that we should have a means of communication aside from our usual network.
FROM: devan.isha@cdc.org
Ridiculous as it may have been, there is no time to complain. We can only work fast and refine after this chaos.

Assuming they allow us any of the resources needed to address the situation.

They will. They are are harsh and strict but they're not stupid. If we need something, we only need to prove the how and the why.
