A couple of the new kids are poking around for blades. They apparently have more experience with them than guns. Told them I'd ask around and see if anyone's willing to lend them some.
If they wreck them you can always them buy you new ones next chance we get to do some shopping.
FROM: tess@cdc.org
Haven't met them personally, but there's some wizard kid whose file acts like he's a half-crazy dick, some alien who looks awful human who can blow up planets, can't figure out why they don't have him do our job for us, and some woman named Lust whose hands are spears and who is apparently sadistic.
FROM: tess@cdc.org
Other than that it seems like the regular mix of useful folks and people without any business being here. We got another Steve Rogers though. And that dead guy came back.
[She doesn't actually know which rover Isha's in, but it doesn't take all that long to look up, and none of them are that far away from each other. So it doesn't take too long for her to meander her way over to the right one and knock as politely as she was able (not very at all) on the door.]

Well as long as I get it back in the same shape I don't see too much harm...
FROM: devan.isha@cdc.org
Any suspicious looking ones of the lot?

Bloody hell the new recruits sound pleasant. I met the other Steve, that was... an experience. Now we have two captains.
FROM: devan.isha@cdc.org
Baqer? Yes, I also had the unfortunate luck of finding him, or him finding me, not long after his revival.
no subject
They're not all bad. Most of the ones I've met haven't rubbed me wrong. But you know how it goes.
FROM: tess@cdc.org
Not that one, someone who died back on the Neheda. He's on orange now.
no subject
Oh. Those were a few, I'll have to review the files to see who it is.
FROM: devan.isha@cdc.org
Any word of Warriorhead or is he still off the grid?
no subject
I haven't heard shit. I know they have the tendency to fuck off every once in awhile but some shit has happened. You'd expect an excuse, at least.
no subject
It's not unlike them to go dark for so long, no.
Would anyone else know, do you think? I wonder if it's even worth asking.
no subject
Dagger maybe? Lord knows they're all wrapped up in each other's shit.
FROM: tess@cdc.org
Of course, that's not saying whether he'll give you a straight answer.
no subject
Dagger already hates me I'm not keen on asking him anything.
no subject
He hates you? You spray him with water or something?
no subject
No but he's convinced I don't care for anyone but myself and he's known my sort and they've ruined his team. I may have egged him on a bit.
FROM: devan.isha@cdc.org
Also I insulted his fabricated machine creatures as being only things and not creatures equivalent of living, breathing creation.
no subject
He might want to take another look at his team if that sort of thing bothers him.
FROM: tess@cdc.org
His what? You ever consider learning to kiss ass?
no subject
I can kiss ass perfectly fine but apparently my issue was to question whether or not we could trust his answers.
FROM: devan.isha@cdc.org
I'm not here for Dagger he's not my unit lead. I'd rather kiss ass to Warriorhead and Mother.
no subject
Warriorhead I see, but why Mothership? Why pick and chose?
FROM: tess@cdc.org
In general I try to keep out from under all their feet if I can manage. Then again, I got a vested interest in red team.
no subject
Dagger is a child, predictably erratic. Mother knows a lot, more than we could imagine. I learned more than I expected through her.
FROM: devan.isha@cdc.org
Personal interest or professional courtesy?
no subject
He's something.
[And she figured it wasn't all erratic child. He couldn't have got where he was if it was. Of course, he also refused to take a damn bath.]
FROM: tess@cdc.org
Well now, I'm sure you've read my file. Both, though.
no subject
FROM: devan.isha@cdc.org
Given the nature of this place, I would say those files are suitably outdated. We aren't the same people anymore.
[If she looked at her own file, she could say easily that much of it isn't quite accurate anymore.]
no subject
Some things don't change.
no subject
Only some things, fortunately. I haven't lost my taste for diamonds despite the lack of them.
no subject
FROM: tess@cdc.org
Well, they are a girl's best friend.
[Sarcasm doesn't translate in text well, but considering what Tess normally looks like, in this case it might.]
FROM: tess@cdc.org
You mind if I swing by to grab those knives?
no subject
FROM: devan.isha@cdc.org
Not at all.

Alright then.

no subject
I would offer tea but I am sadly in short supply of the stuff. Come in if you like.
no subject
[Had seemed more important at the time. Besides, the kind of tea she was most fond of wasn't likely to come steaming from a mug anyhow.
She takes the invitation easily enough, stepping up into the comparative quiet of the rover, looking around with only barely concealed interest.]
I think some of the local plants are supposed to be alright for that sort of thing, if you've got the time and patience for it.
